Spotlight Stewardship

2026

Spotlight Stewardship is a course offered by the Santa Cruz Mountains Stewardship Network that brings community leaders out on to the land to learn first-hand about the diverse and complex issues that are involved in caring for the lands of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

In 2026, Spotlight Stewardship includes tours of Pescadero Watershed, Upper Pajaro River ag and conservation lands, commercial timberland, Big Creek Lumber sawmill, Scott Creek Resiliency Project, weelili onyenmak Preserve, and San Lorenzo River Watershed. The tours will cover forest health projects, watershed health, threatened and endangered species, commercial timber operations, fire, recreation, habitat restoration, and connectivity.

The 2026 tour days are May 8th, June 5th, June 12th, October 9th, October 30th. Each tour is from approximately 8:30-4:30.
